Bathroom remodel questions
Should I replace the tub with a walk-in shower?
It is the most common change we make, and in a house with more than one bathroom it usually makes sense. If it is the only bathroom in the home, think about resale before removing the last tub. We will walk through both options with you rather than pushing one.
What is behind the walls of an older bathroom?
Often more than expected — old galvanised supply lines, a fan vented into the attic rather than outside, and water damage around the tub flange or under the subfloor. We open things up before we finalise anything, and if we find something we tell you what it costs to do right before we proceed.
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
A single bathroom is typically a few weeks on site once materials are staged, with the tile and its setting time driving much of the schedule. You get a written schedule with your estimate.
Do you waterproof behind the tile?
Always. A tiled shower is only as good as what sits behind it — the membrane, the pan, and the sloping. Tile over the wrong substrate looks fine for two years and then rots the wall out. This is the part of a bathroom that no one sees and that determines whether it lasts.
